Guerin Catholic got their 2016-2017 season off to a strong start at Decatur Central Tuesday night by winning 10 of the 12 events en route to a 129-39 victory. Veterans Abby Maroney, Danielle Hunckler, Catalina Dunasky, and Clare Cline lead the way with individual wins, as well as powering the 200 Medley Relay, the 200 Free Relay, and 400 Free Relay to wins.  Returning lettermen Micaela Mitchell, Emme Goetz, and Elizabeth Lewis also turned in strong performances.

Among the eleven first-year swimmers who contributed to the win, Gwen Ronnau impressed with a win in the 100 Breast, while Steph Delancey and Courtney Lacy showed real promise.  And Grace Corman, under difficult circumstances, won the 1-Meter diving competition and set a Guerin Catholic school record in the process.

The girls are back in action this Saturday when they take on Warren Central and Lebanon in a three-way meet at Warren Central at 10:00 AM.
