On a gorgeous day in Lawrenceburg, the Golden Eagles competed with the Bulldogs (Columbus North) in the Semi-State Championship.

Missing on a couple of great scoring chances in the first 12′ of the contest, Guerin Catholic got on the board in the 24′ thanks to senior co-captain Elle Vuotto.  The senior would strike again in the 31′ (both assists coming from the feet of freshman Quincy McMahon).

In the second half, CN snuck behind the GCWS defense to make the contest 2-1 (54′).  Despite a few more scoring chances of their own, Guerin Catholic would not score again until Vuotto found fellow classmate Cassidy Lindley at the 72′.  The third Golden Eagle goal was followed quickly by junior Kelsie Smith (73′), off a ball by freshman Evelyn Bestard.

GCWS take a 14 match unbeaten streak in to the IHSAA AAA State Final this Friday at 8P (Butler University) where they will face Penn.
