Guerin Catholic Girls Swim Team Falls to Hamilton Heights, Tops Liberty Christian

An injury-depleted Golden Eagle girls’ swim team put up a great fight on Thursday night.  Missing 6 swimmers due to illness, the team nevertheless turned in some great swims.  The final score in the 3-way meet read Hamilton Heights 108, Guerin Catholic 67, and Liberty Christian 5.

Freshman Mary Kate Cline was the only individual winner.  She first won the 50 Free in a new school-record time, and then narrowly missed breaking her own school record in the 100 Fly.  Fellow freshman Emma Abdalla bettered her school record in the diving competition, taking second in the process.   Other Top 3 performances were turned in by Catalina Dunasky (2nd 100 Free, ), Danielle Hunckler (3rd 200IM, 3rd 100 Fly), Stephanie DeLancey (3rd 100 Free, 3rd 200 Free), Megan Wiitala (3rd 100 Breast), and Clare Cline (3rd 500 Free, 3rd 100 Back).

The girls swim their final meet before the New Year on Tuesday when the squad travels to Tipton to take on the host Blue Devils at 5:30 pm.
