Girls Junior Varsity Lacrosse, Girls Varsity Lacrosse · Guerin Catholic Women’s LAX Squads Battle Penn


Coming off a late game win over St. Josephs earlier in the day, the Varsity Women’s Lacrosse team took on Penn in a hard fought low scoring game and came away victorious with a score of 5-4.

Scoring was lead by Sophomore Maddie Hill and Senior Kalie Dicks with two goals each.  Ashley Beechler lead the team in assists with two.

A strong showing from Freshman Tori Sullivan led the team in defensive efftorts with 4 ground balls and 1 forced turnover.

Strong midfield support from Annie Barrett and Ashley Dicks helped keep Guerin Catholic in control to secure the win in the final minutes of the game.

In the Junior Varsity match, the Golden Eagles were challenged with their second low scoring defensive battle of the day and came away with a 5-5 tie.
Guerin led 4-2 at the half but Penn battled back with a strong midfield attack to outscore Guerin Catholic 3-1 in the second half.
Leading the way in scoring for the Golden Eagles was Junior Nikki Severns and Sophomore Sami Gruning each with two goals.
Strong overall defensive effort showed with 9 players tallying at least one ground ball each.
