The Guerin Catholic boys’ cross country team advanced out of Sectionals as a team for the 2nd time in school history by knocking of ranked Noblesville on their home course. The boys came out with the goal of leading Coach Cody Marowski over his high school coach Kent Graham of Noblesville…a goal set forth at the summer team camp. All of the boys ran the fastest time of the season in earning the 5th and final qualifying spot out of Sectionals. The squad was led by Quinn Gallagher’s 4th place finish, followed by Andrew Hall, Payton Stanley, William Young, Grant Defalque, Mack Bentivoglio and Patrick Berger. The team competed last weekend at Regionals and came up short of advancing as a team as the Regional had 7 of the top 25 teams…with only 5 advancing. Quinn Gallagher finished 9th overall and advanced individually to Semi-State for the 2nd year in a row. He will be running for a chance to become just the 2nd cross country runner in school history to represent the Golden Eagles at the State Championship. Quinn runs at 3:45pm and the girls run at 3pm on Saturday (October 22nd) and the meet is held at the Blue River Cross Country Venue, Blue River Memorial Park, 725 Lee Blvd, Shelbyville, IN (www.bluerivercc.com). Quinn and the ladies could use your support in helping them make their goal of running in Terre Haute for a place on the podium at state! Come out and show the cross country community how much Guerin Catholic supports their student athletes!
