Boys Varsity Lacrosse · #5 Guerin Catholic Falls to #1 Cathedral in the State Semi-Finals

The Golden Eagles ends their season with a record of 11-6. Proud moment for the program for advancing to their first IHSLA Final Four in school history.

The Boys in Purple and Gold played with heart and grit against the Cathedral – Irish in the semi-finals. The Golden Eagles was able to put points first on the score board.  The 1st quarter had a lot of turnovers and was tied 1-1. Guerin Catholic was able to keep the game close in the 2nd quarter. At the end of the half, the Golden Eagles had the lead over the Irish with the score at 3-2.

The Golden Eagles was able to slow the game down, while the Irish struggled with turnovers. Unfortunately, the #1 Ranked Irish was able to take advantage the penalty struck Golden Eagles in the third quarter to take a 6-4 lead. There was a point that Guerin Catholic was man down by two players due to penalty. Cathedral took over the 4th quarter coming from the momentum it build from the 3rd quarter. The Irish advance to the finals by defeating the Golden Eagle with a final score of 10-5.

The State Finals was represented by Cathedral and HSE.
